Different types of acne

Acne can be easily divided in to different types of acne and this classification is usually based on the severity of the condition.

The severities of the different types of acne are further based on the number of lesions that are present on the body in conjunction with the presence of persistence, psychological impact as well as scaring.

Different Types Of Acne

Comedonal Acne

This type of acne can be considered as the initial phase of acts. It usually triggers of with the onset of puberty. It starts its onset on the nose and can progress further to involve the checks, forehead and chin.

Conedonal consists of white heads and black heads. There are no traces of pimples. This type of acne may exist separately or even with many other types of acne.

Papulopustular Acne

Out of all the different types of acne this is the most common type. It is also considered to be the main type. It appears on the skin in the form of reddish pimples and can easily range from mild to severe. The acne most commonly involves upper arms, neck, back and chest of the body.

Nodulocystic Acne

Nodulocystic is considered to be the most severe out of the different types of acne. It is more severe than the Papulopustular acne and also involves the presence of large deep lesions, also known as nodules. It may also result in the formation of acne cysts. It can also affect the chest, face and back. This type is most common among males.

Other Different Types Of Acne

Acne has many forms. These are seen as a small red dot to big pus filled cysts. However, all these types are related to each other. This means that they are developed from one another. They may also be completely independent in their origin.

Nodules Acne

Nodules are severe forms of acne, also known as cyst as they are pus filled appear in sac-like formation. These are also considered to be the worst type of infection that tends to spread under the skin towards the adjoining tissue around the primary infection site. These are filled with pus and usually run deep inside the skin. Nodules can be very painful and scarring.

Cystic Acne

Out of the different types of acne this is very common and caused by squeezing, picking or pinching small acne filled with pus. These activities makes the pus inside the cyst to burst deep inside the tissue of the skin and results in to a body mechanism that sends white blood cells to the affected area and these cells work towards fighting off bacteria. Cystic acne also results in a lot of swelling and deep rooted inflammation that ultimately results in pain.

Acne Vulgaris

This consists of black as well as white heads. This is easy to treat and can be taken care of by applying 2.5 per cent Benzoyl peroxide topically to the infected area.

Acne treatment

There are a lots of acne treatment for pimples, zits, blackheads, and whiteheads. These are all part of the same irritating curse that affects so many, especially teenagers. In fact, many people consider acne the most irritating thing about their teens. At a time when teenagers tend to be very self conscious and are going through physical changes, cracking voices, menstrual cycles, facial hair, and hair growing in strange places, this acne comes along to make things even more complex. Where in the world do they come from and what is the best acne treatment?

Common acne is officially known as acne vulgaris. This blemish producing blight is caused by multiple factors. During puberty the body produces an excess of the male hormone testosterone. Also, female menstrual cycles cause changes in the body that throw the hormone balance a bit out of whack. Add to this the other changes in the adolescent body that begins the process of turning them into adults, and acne is on its way. Much of the problems caused by acne come from the bacteria that is normally present on skin, a staff like bacteria that grows in abundance, especially in clogged pores filled with dead skin cells so it is important to find the best acne treatment.

Other things can cause acne as well, or make it worse. Exposure to too much chlorine can cause a long lasting and nasty type of acne; also the use of anabolic steroids can cause acne, in addition to many other health problems that they can cause.

For many years people thought that acne was caused by poor hygiene so kids would scrub their faces raw in an effort to open up pores thinking this was a good acne treatment to get rid of acne pimples and blackheads. That actually made the problem worse by damaging the skin. Also for many years people thought that certain foods would make some people more prone to acne like fried foods and side chocolate. This may have been a natural assumption as teenagers often eat candy bars and other chocolate foods. Also most teenagers tend to be fans of fried foods, such as hamburgers, French fries, tator tots, fish and chips, and fried chicken. Many people associated oily skin with greasy foods, but there is no medical or scientific connection. Acne can be nasty, but is a natural part of growing up.

Most people outgrow acne as their bodies change and puberty ends without the need of any acne treatment. In fact, by the time most people reach their twenties they are through with the ravages of acne. For a few people it may hang on longer, but for the vast majority of people it is a temporary and passing thing. Time will cure most cases as a person passes into adulthood.

The types of acne and acne treatment are divided into two different categories, inflamed and non-inflamed. Non-inflamed blemishes are called blackheads or whiteheads. The whitehead is a clogged follicle that plugs the skin pore. The mass is made up of dead skin cells. The blackhead is in essence the same thing, but it has opened up and become oxidized, creating the darker tint. Many people think that blackheads come from dirt, but that is not the case.

Acne Treatment

Inflamed blemishes are those that are commonly call pimples or zits. These blemishes are usually reddish and look inflamed. The red pimple is classic. A bit more troublesome is the larger acne cyst. Pimples develop when a whitehead does not turn into a blackhead and plugs the pore so that it can be expelled. Instead the pore wall breaks down and becomes a repository for oil, dead skin cells, bacteria and other debris of the body. White blood cells congregate in the blemish to fight the infection, and form a puss substance, that can become painful. Everyone is familiar with pimples. The larger acne cyst can be even more painful, and it can flair up again and again and will require acne treatment.

Acne Treatment

There are many misconceptions about acne. Some people think that the sun will cure acne and seek a suntan as a cure all. However, this has no positive effect, simply darkening the skin just makes pimples harder to see. However, there are many acne treatments available for acne that can lessen the impact it has on the lives of the victims. There many good over the counter remedies, natural remedies, and when needed prescription drugs can all help for acne treatment.

Go check out the best

It seems apparently that back acne is a lesser problem than the ones that appear on the face; this is because of the simple reason that they are on the portion of the skin that is covered by clothes. However the fact remains that back acne still remains a major cause for worry. Those who have them face embarrassment at places such as the gym and at the beach where they have to take off the cloth.
So if you are one of the victims of back acne and want to get a cure for it, you are in luck because this article is just for you. I have suffered from acne in the face and back for in excess of 7 years and have always wanted to come out with a permanent remedy. And with my continued research, I have finally found the relief that works not just for back acne, but also for the ones in the other places.
This article discusses why someone has back acne and how they are different to facial acne. And not only that, you will also learn how you too can solve the back acne problems.
All about back acne:
There are various kinds of back acne such as whiteheads and blackheads and then there are big cystic acnes that reach deeper into the skin. The difference between facial acne and back acne is that when they come up in the back, the treatment becomes more problematic, and back acne is also more prevalent. This makes it quite annoying.
In the back side of a human the number of sebaceous glands is much more and due to this the production of natural oils are also higher. This and also the fact that the human skin on the back is tougher ensure that back acne is usually severer than when they are formed on the face. The presence of cysts and nodules in large numbers also does not help this matter.
Why back acne occurs?
There are many who mistakenly think that back acne is caused when the skin is overexposed to the Sun ; they believe that this happens because the skin becomes dry from the exposure and thus ends up making more sebum to counter this. This extra sebum chokes the hair follicles, thus leading to the formation of the acne. Some also believe that back acne happens from low levels of nutrients in the body. However the fact is that, why back acne happens goes much deeper than this.
In truth, the causes of all kinds of acne, including back acne, lesions on the face, neck, whiteheads or blackheads are the same and they are the buildup of toxins in the body and an imbalance in the level of hormones.
Yes it is true that the skin on the back is tougher and there are more sebaceous glands here, but these factors do not cause back acne. However these factors may still make the symptoms worse. So go ahead and put on that moisturizer or stop exposing your skin to the Sun: these measures will definitely decrease the symptoms. However the back acne itself cannot be cured.
How is back acne different to the lesions on the face or the body?
The main difference cannot be attributed to the external features of the various body parts such as the number of sebaceous glands or the toughness of the skin or the level of dryness. Understanding this is crucial for handling the symptoms of the condition and for treatment that is applied externally.
But there is a basic difference between back acne and the ones in the other parts such as facial acne and this difference is in the inside. Back acne basically happens from a high level of toxins in the lymph and the blood rather than from imbalance of the hormones.
Toxicity thus plays a more crucial role for back acne and it is not so the case for acne on the face. However hormonal imbalance still plays a role (even though it is not the #1 reason). This factor always has an impact; it is just that in back acne, it is not the major and dominant cause.
The only cure that works for back acne:
The correct approach is really quite simple: you have to fight the internal causes and neutralize them and once the real causes are taken on, the back acne problem can be permanently cured.
But do remember that since toxicity is the major cause, the treatment focus should also be to reduce the levels of the toxins.
Back acne can be best solved through the holistic path. The holistic approach not only challenges the external factors that worsen the acne, but it also treats the condition from the inside and offers tips to change the lifestyle so that you can lead a healthy life and finally get rid of back acne.

Acne vulgaris is a common skin disorder affecting at least 85 percent of adolescents and young adults. This disorder is often dismissed by the medical community and general population as a superficial affliction associated with growing up, however scientific evidence has illustrated that the effects of this condition are far more than skin deep. This brief review of relevant scientific literature discusses the potential effect of acne beyond its dermatological manifestations.

Acne vulgaris, or acne, is a skin problem that starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up your pores. Some people call it blackheads, blemishes, whiteheads, pimples, or zits. When you have just a few red spots, or pimples, you have a mild form of acne. Severe acne can mean hundreds of pimples that can cover the face, neck, chest, and back. Or, it can be bigger, solid, red lumps that are painful (cysts).

Acne develops most often on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, or back and can range from mild to severe. It can last for a few months, many years, or come and go your entire life. Mild acne usually causes only whiteheads and blackheads. At times, these may develop into an infection in the skin pore (pimple). Severe acne can produce hundreds of pimples that cover large areas of skin. Cystic lesions are pimples that are large and deep. These lesions are often painful and can leave scars on your skin.

Acne vulgaris is a disorder characterized by pimples. Caused by the increase in sebum release from the sebaceous glands of the skin, it usually affects teenagers and young adults. The condition is associated with infection and blockage of secretions from the skin (sebaceous) glands. Most often the pimples appear on the face, neck, chest, shoulder and upper portion of the back.

Sometimes acne needs treatment with stronger medications or a combination of therapies. Deeper blemishes, such as nodules and cysts, are more likely to leave scars. As a result, your doctor may give you oral antibiotics sooner to start the healing process. Inflammatory acne may need a combination of several therapies.

Acne vulgaris is common and affects nearly all adolescents and adults at some time in their lives. Although overall health is not impaired, acne is not a trivial disease; it can produce cutaneous and emotional scars that last a lifetime. Numerous psychological problems stem from acne, even resulting in decreased employability in adulthood. Fortunately, acne is eminently treatable, and this review provides an outline of current treatments.

Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) and other bacteria on the skin and within the follicles produce bacterial lipases (enzymes) that move into the follicle openings and convert sebum into free fatty acids, which irritates the follicle linings. This irritation causes excessive production of cells and cellular debris, which blocks the follicles and traps P. acnes bacteria inside.

Nodules: As opposed to the lesions mentioned above, nodules are much larger, can be quite painful, and can sometimes last for months. Nodules are large, hard bumps under the skin’s surface. Scarring is common. Absolutely do not attempt to squeeze such a lesion. You may cause severe trauma to the skin and the lesion may last for months longer than it normally would. Dermatologists often have ways of lessening swelling and preventing scarring.

The herbal acne treatments that you are planning to try will it really work? Learn the actual truth behind herbal acne remedies that I found through my seven long arduous years of research; truth that no dermatologist, herbal expert or naturopath will ever tell you.
Herbal acne treatments: Let us first get introduced to the herbs
Herbs have been used for various purposes all over the years. Not only for curing acnes but they have been used to promote love, spirituality, birth, energy. Herbal medicines are most popular because of their gentle qualities and no side effects.
Herbs are powerhouses packed with nutrients. Herbs have the ability to replenish your body with the required nutrients that help the system to heal itself gradually. Herbs address not only the symptoms of a problem but the underlying root cause itself.
In my seven years of research I have tested various herbal treatments with varying levels of potency with various individuals with varying types of acnes and severity and the conclusion that I have drawn is: if chosen and taken correctly herbal treatments work! Herbal treatments can actually help the body in getting rid of acnes but the effect is temporary and it needs to be accompanied with some other protocols that take care of the other factors that cause acne.
How do herbal acne treatments work?
All herbs are not alike, neither do they work the same or at the same pace with different individuals. Herbs are full of nutrients that help in the production of hormones, and in nourishing toning, regulating and healing the body. And herbs work in tandem with the body they address the root cause of the problem unlike conventional treatments that only treat the symptoms. Herbs work gradually and at a slow pace.
Herbs don`t work individually rather the herbs work collectively i.e. each herb contributing in taking care of one factor that`s causing the problem. When taken with the right food items like fresh fruits and vegetables herbs work more effectively.
Herbal acne treatment like with any other natural cure lead to a temporary crisis i.e. the situation worsens before becoming better. Herbs stimulate the body towards a intensive detoxification and that leads the liver to discharge a lot of toxins in the blood stream which aggravates the situation for a while. But this is proves effective as it helps the body to restore to its natural tendency of healing itself and return to the state of homeostasis and work really hard to heal itself.
When taken in the form of blend or tincture herbal acne treatments prove really effective. They purify the blood of toxic build ups, help restore hormonal balance and enhance live functions and help it in expelling excess hormones and toxics out of the body. They also help in fighting Candida and various fungal infections that afflict the eliminations organs and worsen acnes condition.
The only drawback herbal treatments only give a temporary respite.
Why don`t herbal treatments have a permanent effect?
Though herbs help the body to detoxify it itself and help in nourishing and healing as well, yet no herbs however potent they are, can ever permanently cure your acne.
Two reasons why this is so:
1. To permanently and completely cure your acnes you need to optimize your lifestyle and help your hormones reach the right balance, you also need have your elimination organs in good health. Herbs though definitely help in this process but they can never be a substitute.
Example: If you are suffering from toxic build up in your blood like most acne sufferers herbs that help in cleansing the blood however potent they may be they can never be a substitute for blood and liver cleansing processes. In the same way that a mechanical issue in your car can`t simply be fixed by just a change in the oil or the fuel.
2. Though some like Echinacea (helps in reducing inflammation and helps in the healing process) and aloe vera (loaded with astringent and anti-bacterial qualities) can be continued for a long time span most herbs should not be continued for long. The reason being; most herbs like dandelion boost up a organ to function in top gear for some time, which itself can be dangerous on a long time span, but then it stops working. That`s the nature of herbs.
There`s another reason why herbs work only short time is due to the crisis on the healing system, your body is pushed to work harder to cleanse and regulate itself, thus in a way the potency of the herbs is neutralized over time.
Herbal treatments need to work in tandem with other protocols to succeed
They are many herbs that can help in reducing acne symptoms. Some herbs are effective in cleaning your system. There are many herbs that help balance the hormonal activity. Some help in killing fungal infections and parasites. Some can strengthen your liver and purify your blood. All of this helps in a positive way for your acne condition.
But this over stimulation of your liver in expelling the toxics eventually tires the liver and the positive effect caused by the herbs is gradually over.
A better way is to make the liver so strong that even after the temporary boost up of the herbs has diminished the liver is still able o continue expelling toxins.
Also, since toxic build up and hormonal imbalance is caused by various internal and external factors, and the cleansing process being very complex it requires other protocols too other than a strong liver to succeed.
Conclusion: A herbal acne treatment to work effectively needs to be accompanied with various other protocols and also it needs to be kept in mind that herbs need to be taken in cycles such as 2-3 weeks on and then again the same number of weeks off.

Acne vulgaris is a common skin disorder. It is acne vulgaris is a common skin disorder affecting at least 85 percent of adolescents and young adults. When you have just a few red spots, or pimples, you have a mild form of acne. Some people with severe acne are not bothered by it. Others are embarrassed or upset even though they have only a few pimples.

There are different types of acne. The most common acne is the type that develops during the teen years. Puberty causes hormone levels to rise, especially testosterone. High hormones cause signal skin glands to start making more oil (sebum). Oil releases from the pores to protect the skin and keep it moist. Acne begins when oil mixes with dead cells and clogs the skin’s pores. Bacteria can grow in this mixture, and if it leaks into nearby tissues, it causes swelling, redness, and pus. A common name for these raised bumps is pimples.

Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands. It may be occur on areas of the body that have sebaceous glands such as face, neck, back and shoulders. It is associated with high rail of sebum secretion. Excessive sebum is usually secreted into the dilated hair follicles. The sebum joins with the bacteria and keratin in the hair follicles to form a plug.

“The most common form of acne is known as “acne vulgaris”, meaning “common acne.” Acne Vulgaris is a common form of acne, a inflammatory condition of the skin characterized by comedones, papules and painful lesions on the surface of the skin or pustules. It is caused by changes in the pilosebaseous units and tiny hair follicles on the face and body get clogged due to the excessive secretion of oils. It usually affects in teen and adults.

Causes

Acne blemishes are caused by an overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands, stimulated by androgens. This excess sebum, mixing with dust and dirt, blocks the skin pores and causes blackheads to form. Some bacteria, normally present in hair follicles, then begin to proliferate abnormally and cause inflammation. The blackheads develop into papules or elevated, pus-filled pustules. If the follicle opening completely closes, the accumulated sebum is degraded by bacteria and forms a cyst.

Acne occurs when tiny holes on the surface of the skin called pores become clogged. Each pore is an opening to a canal called a follicle, which contains a hair and an oil gland. Normally, the oil glands help keep the skin lubricated and help remove old skin cells.

Symptoms

Symptoms of acne include whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples. These can occur on the face, neck, shoulders, back, or chest. Pimples that are large and deep are called cystic lesions. These can be painful if they get infected. They also can scar the skin.

The disease usually begins one to two years before puberty and is caused by stimulation of the facial sebaceous glands by androgens, the male hormones. (Women also produce small quantities of male hormones; this is the basis of acne in women.) It is thought that acne sufferers, rather than having higher levels of the hormones, actually have sebaceous glands that are more sensitive to the hormone.

It is now stale news that there are numerous Acne treatments available in the market today. It is also not news that this also greatly increase the level decisions we need to make regarding the treatments we choose. This could be quite a daunting assignment.Lets review some Acne treatments available. Some common types of these topical treatments include: Alcohol based solutions, creams, foams, gels, lotions and ointments. Some of these Acne treatments are readily available but while some are only available by prescription. For mild Acne treatments or occasional outbreaks, you would likely find treatment in your local drug store. Most over the counter medications contain some of the following ingredients and are effective for treating acne.Sulfur: It helps in unclogging the pores and removing bacteria. It also helps reduce inflammation.Benzoyl Peroxide: This compound causes acne to die by supplying the pores with much needed oxygen. It also causes the skin to be really dry meaning you would need a suitable moisturizer.Tea Tree Oil: Many cleansers and toners have this oil as an ingredient. It helps kill Acne. There are other ingredients that are effective against Acne but these other ones would be better prescribed by a dermatologist because of their strength, they should be used with care.Accutane: This medication though very effective, should be taken with great care and never without your dermatologists prescription because it has dangerous side effects as bad as serious birth defects. It is a form of Vitamin A and it is best suited for usage for a short period of time especially for severe outbreaks.Retin A: Also a derivative from Vitamin A and very effective, it doesn’t have the adverse side effect of Accutane. Its only down side is that it thins and dries the skin meaning that you would need to use an effective sunscreen moisturizer. It can be used for extended periods and is used Topically.Differin: Very similar to Retin A in its application method and source derived from that is Vitamin A. It is however less drying than Retin A though you still need a good sunscreen. If you use Retin A and discover that it is unsuitable for your skin, Differin would be a good alternative.Antibiotics: It attacks the troublesome bacteria in the pores. However if used for extended periods, you could develop resistance to it so DO NOT use for long.It is not strange that a product can be effective for sometime and suddenly becomes ineffective. As you use a product, you could either get resistant to it or the severity of your Acne has changed or even that another form of Acne has taken over. Whatever the case may be, be rest assured that their are enough products out their to help you tackle whatever Acne or general skin condition you face.If in confusion, its always safe to see your dermatologist.Have a wonderful Acne free, healthy and youthful looking skin. http://www.cbadv.com
